This painting is dedicated to every animal I've ever had to say goodbye to.

At my parents' house, there is a small pet cemetery where three of our cats are buried. It gives me a place to remember them. But there are so many other animals who have shaped my life, pets and wild animals, that have no gravestone and no photograph. This painting became their monument.

Built up through layers of paint and glue and different structures, the composition can be viewed from different angles, blurring what is above and below. Perhaps animal heaven isn't so far away after all. Maybe we only need to look at the world from another perspective to see it.
